Internet has Put Porn Industry out of Business

The porn industry is over and the internet is to blame, according to one of the world’s most notorious adult film stars.Ron Jeremy, who rose to prominence in the 1970s and has since continued to appear in movies, said the industry could not sustain itself any longer.
“The internet has put porn out of business,” he told News.com.au. “Video used to be king, but now the storytelling is gone and it’s all about compilations.”
The improving quality of pirate films has also hastened the porn industry’s demise, he said, with good quality copies now appearing on free online platforms.
But he conceded the internet had brought some benefits, saying it helped to reduce stigma around porn and encouraged amateurs to make their own adult movies.
He said he would continue to make porn as long as he had an audience and only imagines his career ending if he contracted a disease.
“I will get leprosy and my penis will fall off in my hand while there is a girl waiting for me in the next room,” he said.
The 64-year-old veteran, who is believed to be worth £4.5m, is currently facing a series of rape and sexual assault claims by different women.
Former performer Jennifer Steele alleges Mr Jeremy raped her twice — once at a photoshoot and once at his apartment in December 1997.
Mr Jeremy has vigorously denied all the accusations, describing them as “pure lies or buyer’s remorse”.
